Electrocatalytic Oxidation of the Tritane dye in Aqueous Solutions

Abstract

Electrocatalytic behaviour of the acid green, tritane dye (AG) on platinized platinum was studied. Physical adsorption and chemosorption of AG was investigated by voltammetric methods. Electrocatalytic oxidation of platinum-chemosorbed particles at potentials under oxygen evolution was found. Electrocatalytic oxidation of AG at constant current in alkaline and acid media was carried out. It was found that oxidative destruction of AG leads to the formation of mineral substances. The results obtained for using as models for the processes of dioxin-like compound oxidations were suggested.
