Preconcentration of phosphate and silicate ions on cellulose filters as hydrophobic ion associates of heteropoly acids with tri-n-octylamine

Abstract

A technique for preconcentration of phosphate and silicate-ions in the form of ionic associates of molybdoheteropoly acids (MHA) with tri-n-octylamine (TOA) from water solutions on the cellulose filters treated with paraffin has been proposed. The influence of sulfuric acid concentration, molybdenum(VI) and TOA on the MHA recovery was studied. Silicon and phosphorus were determined directly on the filters by X-ray fluorescence method. Calibration dependencies were linear in concentration ranges: 0,5 – 30 µg of phosphorus and 1 – 45 µg of silicon on filter.
