The vapour pressure and heat capacities of perfluor-N-(4-methyl-cyclohexyl)piperidine

Abstract

The heat capacity of perfluoro-N-(4-methyl-cyclohexyl)piperidine (PMCP) have been measured by an adiabatic calorimetry. The purity of the substance under study, the triple point temperature, and the enthalpy of fusion has been obtained. The temperature dependence of the saturation vapour pressure was defined by a comparative ebulliometry in the ranges of the pressure and temperature from 6.2 kPa to 101.6 kPa and 374.2 K to 460.9 K, respectively. The enthalpy of vaporization have been measured by calorimetric method at T = 298.15 K. Some thermodynamic properties like the normal boiling temperature, the enthalpy of vaporization, (T), in dependence on temperature, and the critical parameters of the PMCP were derived from the saturation vapour pressure. The values of enthalpy of vaporization at T = 298.15 K, obtained by experimental and calculation methods, agree within the error limits that proves their reliability and that of = f(T) equation used as extrapolated one.
