Modeling calcium binding at the light harvesting complex of the bacterial photosynthetic center of Thermochromatiumtepidum

Abstract

By using the sequence of amino acid residues of the a- and b- polypeptide helices from the light harvesting complex LH1 of the bacterial photosynthetic center of Thermochromatium tepidum the three-dimensional structural model of the subunit was constructed and the specific binding site of calcium ions was proposed.
