Micellization and surface properties of aqueous solution of binary mixtures of Tween-80 and bromide cetiltrimethylammonium

Abstract

Mixed micelles formation and interfacial properties of aqueous of binary mixtures of Tween-80 and bromide cetyltrimethylammonium have been studied. The experimental results were analyzed applying the regular solution theory (RST), which allows for calculation of the composition of mixed monolayers and micelles as well as the excess free energy of adsorption and micelles formation, corresponding to mutual interactions between surfactants in mixed adsorbed film and micelle and interaction parameters bs, bm. The synergism was observed in the micelle as at the aqueous solution/air interface.
