Study of oxidation diethyldithiocarbamate of sodium on glassy carbon electrode in water and water-organic solutions

Abstract

The oxidation of diethyldithiocarbamate of sodium on glassy carbon electrode in water and water-organic solutions on a background KCI and NaOH is investigated. By methods cyclic, square-wave voltammetry and voltammetry on a rotating electrode is shown, that in water and in water-organic solutions the electrode reaction is irreversible. The oxidation in a water solution KCI proceeds with participation one electron and in water-organic solution KCI with participation two electrons. The possible mechanism of oxidation is discussed.
Key words: diethyldithiocarbamate of sodium, voltammetry, glassy carbon electrode, oxidation.
