Influence of the additives of low molecular weight alcohols on the adsorption of mixtures of twins with sodium dodecylsulfate at the liquid–gas

Abstract

Influence of additives of non-electrolytes (low molecular weight alcohols) on the surface tension of individual and mixed solutions of nonionic and anionic surfactants at the air interface and patterns of their flotation extraction were investigated. Was found that additives of alcohol reduced the surface tension, both individual, and mixed solutions of surfactants. It was shown that the additive Fainerman-Miller model can be used to predict the equilibrium surface tension of solutions of mixtures of surfactants with alcohols.
Key words: surface tension, flotation, Twins, sodium dodecylsulfate, ethyl and isopropyl alcohols.
