Ion-Molecule Equilibria Between Fullerenes and Their Difluorides in the Gas Phase.

ABSTRACT. The "fullerene extract-UO2F2-KF" system was studied by means of Knudsen CellMass-Spectrometry. The molecules and negative ions of fullerene difluorides (from C60F2 to C84F2) together with the parent fullerenes were observed in the gas phase in the tenperature range 902 K-1009 K. The electron affinities of some fullerene difluorides and enthalpies of fluorine exchange between fullerene difluorides and fullerene anions were determined.
